I can still hear my daughter's laughter.
So loud and clear .The sound of happiness.
The wind blowing her hair, her hands was full of sand as she was running stumbling in paddles.
Careless,alive and free.
Spending just 20 minutes to connect with nature can help lower stress hormone levels. That's the finding of a study published in (Frontiers in Psychology) that has established for the first time the most effective dose of an urban nature experience.
Participants spend 10 minutes or longer, three times a week for an eight-week period, in an outdoor place where they could interact with nature. The settings varied from yards to public parks to green areas near their place of work. They also either walked or sat during their nature time.
The data revealed that just a 20 minute nature experience was enough to significantly reduce cortisol levels. But if you spent a little more time immersed in a nature experience, 20 to 30 minutes sitting or walking, cortisol levels dropped at their greatest rate. After that, additional de-stressing benefits continue to add up but at a slower rate.
